Lawyers Qld About Us

Lawyers Qld is a Law Firm that specialises in Commercial and Consumer Tribunal matters and Building and Construction Law.  Unlike many firms that occasionally practice this unique area of law, building and construction and the CCT is the focus of our energy.

Lawyers Qld is supported by a panel of building industry experts.  What this means for our clients is that in addition to Lawyers Qld providing you with legal advice, we can arrange for an expert to provide you with technical advice so we know, for example, if the works are defective or if the works for a stage have not been completed.

We understand that Building Disputes are very complicated so our goals are to:

  • Advise you of your legal rights.

  • Provide you with access to building industry professionals who can fully apprise you of the state of the building works.

  • Assess if works are defective and require rectification.

  • Support you with expert witnesses who will appear on your behalf should you find yourself in Court.

  • Help you find the right people to finish your project.

  • Find a commercial solution to the problem.

Karen Schwede is the Legal Practitioner Director of the firm.  She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1988 and has extensive experience having worked in Private Practice and as a Legal Officer for the Queensland Government.  Karen also has international experience and is a Qualified Solicitor in England, Wales and Hong Kong.  Karen has worked for major law firms in London and was the Asia region in-house legal counsel for Barclays Bank.

We offer a web special of $295 + Gst for an initial consultation with a lawyer at either the Brisbane CDB or Southport on the Gold Coast.
